What QA preparation needs

Quantitative Aptitude requires more than remembering formulas. You need concept recognition, accurate setup, calculation control, and the judgement to leave questions that are consuming disproportionate time. Build dependable foundations first, then introduce mixed and timed practice.

Build the foundation in a useful order

  1. Strengthen arithmetic relationships such as percentages, ratios, averages, profit and loss, time and work, and time-speed-distance before treating them as isolated chapters.
  2. Develop algebraic translation: turn verbal conditions into equations, inequalities, or useful variable relationships.
  3. Build geometry from definitions and standard properties instead of collecting disconnected results.
  4. Practise number-system and modern-math topics after the underlying arithmetic and algebra are stable enough to support them.

How to practise QA

Separate concept work from timed work

When learning, allow time to understand alternate methods. When testing speed, use a clear limit and review what caused delay.

Review slow correct answers

A correct answer can still reveal a poor setup, unnecessary calculation, or missed shortcut that matters under section timing.

Mix topics deliberately

After topic-wise confidence grows, use mixed sets so identifying the method becomes part of the task.

Keep a small calculation routine

Short, regular work on fractions, percentages, approximations, and mental arithmetic can reduce avoidable friction.

Questions for the weekly review

  • Which QA topic caused the most incorrect or abandoned attempts this week?
  • Were errors conceptual, computational, or caused by question selection?
  • Which apparently strong topic has not been tested recently?
  • Did QA receive enough high-energy study time, or only leftover time?
